Hike through history, discover waterfalls, and feel the soul of the Rain Forest in the heart of Rio.
What you'll do
Join us at Alto da Boa Vista to begin your journey into Tijuca National Park. Our experience starts just 5 minutes into the hike, where you’ll encounter the magnificent Taunay Waterfall, the park’s most famous cascade with its 35m free fall.
From there, we’ll embark on a 30-minute hike, discovering historical sites and remarkable examples of the native and exotic flora that define the stunning scenery of the Park. After reaching the Visitors Center, we’ll continue for 40 minutes alongside a small river until we find the Cachoeira das Almas. Here, we’ll relax, allowing time to enjoy the place and truly feel the Rain Forest. The trail is easy and accessible to all ages, with no major difficulties, only some bits of humid and slippery soil.
Our return journey takes a slightly different path, offering the opportunity to visit a historical ruin of a coffee plantation property. If we’re lucky, we might even encounter some local species of the area’s fauna.
This hiking circuit was built to cater to all ages, regardless of your experience.
