Hike to the top, snap the famous photo, and relax by the sea.

What you'll do

We’ll meet and drive for 40 min to the Guaratiba neighbourhood where our hike begins. We’ll hike uphill for 1 hr to one of the most stunning views in Rio from Telegraph Rock. Along the trail you will discover islands, long costal views with mountains, the canals and mangroves around the Restinga da Marambaia, and the richness of our green forest.

The trail requires a bit of effort if you are not used to hike, some parts are a little steep, but there are no great difficulties. Once we reach this breathtaking viewpoint, we will stay for up to 1 hour allowing time to take in the spectacular peak, relax, take pictures and just enjoy the views.

Then we will begin our 50-minute descent back to Guaratiba village.

To finish the morning we will visit the hidden Prainha Beach with the opportunity to get some refreshments and snacks, before we finish the experience.

Where you'll be

We’ll meet at Jardim Oceanico Metro Station – Exit B

We will be hiking in the Pedra Branca State Park. Our adventure begins at Praia de Guaratiba, located at the most southern district of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Itinerary

06:00 –Meet & Greet at Barra da Tijuca
07:15 – Start the hike
08:00 – Arrival at the peak
09:00 – Start hiking back
09:45 – Drive to Prainha Beach
10:15 – Prainha
11:00 – Back to meeting point

What's Included

What to Bring

All participants must bring:

Bring water, repellent, suncream, sunglass, a hat/cap, swimsuit, a small sarong or towel
Since we start so early, bring some snacks for the road.
Wear suitable shoes (trainers or hiking boots but no flip flops please) and comfortable clothes
Personal medication (asthma spray, antihistaminic, pain killers etc)

Important Information

Due to overcrowding at Telégrafo Rock it’s important to start early to avoid massive cues to do the “famous” Picture
This experience is not recommended for people with heart conditions, back and knee problems, or any serious illnesses
